Make your pumpkin bunting
Cut out each flag, punch the marked holes and thread onto string. Hang indoors, out of reach of young children.

Make it in 8 easy steps
- Printed sheets / light card
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- 2 split pins
- Glue or tape
- Thread
Cut & punch
Cut out 8 strips and the stem. Punch the small circles.
Stack neatly
Orange sides face up. Line up the holes at both ends.
Fasten the bottom
Put one split pin through all 8 bottom holes. Open its legs loosely.
Fasten the top
Add the stem, then a second pin through all 8 top holes.
Curve the stack
Keep all strips together. Gently bend the stack; bring the pins closer without joining them. Orange faces out.
Fan into a pumpkin
Hold the top pin above the bottom pin. Move each curved strip sideways around the pins until all 8 surround the centre.
Add the face
Glue the face to the front ribs. Let the smile bridge the gaps.
Ready to hang
Tie thread beneath the top pin’s head. Lift gently and adjust.
The trick: keep both fasteners loose enough for the strips to swivel. Top holes join together; bottom holes join together. Never join the top to the bottom.
Adults: help with cutting, holes and fasteners. Keep small parts and hanging thread out of young children’s reach.
Grown-ups should help with cutting and hole punching.
